99% of Pro cycling team mechanics use workstands that do not clamp the frame or seat post.
Clamps mar the paint work very quickly.
The shaped thin tubes used on frames and seat posts should never be clamped for they are very easily damaged by the clamp force. Australian bike shops are very backward in their care of customer's expensive machinery.
Also clamp stands do not hold the bike securely and stable when working on the bike, especialy when leaning on spanners. This stand is easily picked up with the bike on it and moved, handy after washing the bike outside and moving in indoors.
